ABOUT THE FELLOWSHIP
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Catalyst Fellowship?
Catalyst Fellows are a premier fellowship of young girls committed to Catalyzing Courage for themselves and their communities. The fellowship takes place through dialogue, paired accountability partners, and exercises during a four-month period (May through August). Fellows meet monthly on a Saturday or Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. In addition, during weeks when no Saturday or Sunday meeting occurs, a 2½‐hour evening session is scheduled. There are 12 evening sessions. Upon completion, all scholarship recipients receive an opportunity to present their project results and community impact at the following year's summit.
How do I become a Catalyst Fellow?
The prerequisite in becoming a Catalyst Fellow is attending a Catalyze Courage Summit and being one of the top three finalists in our pitch competition. At the end of each summit, high school participants have an opportunity to share their idea, answering what they would do if they were 1% more courageous, and how they would go about doing it. The top 3 finalists are announced at the completion of each summit.
What do I receive as a Catalyst Fellow?
As a Catalyst Fellow you receive a mini-grant in kickstarting your idea, training and development in turning your vision into reality, access to the entire InHerShoes community of girls and network of female global entrepreneurs, creatives, and executives, along with one-on-one personal mentorship from InHerShoes team members!
Is it possible to change my idea or project after I've pitched?
We stand by your ideas and want you to, too. If you wish to change your project after being selected, you must submit another pitch for your new idea (email firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to learn more). We highly encourage our fellows to continue with their original idea and trust their entrepreneurial spirit!
Can I be a Fellow more than once?
Yes! So long as you attend the following year's summit and are among the top three finalists, you can absolutely be a Catalyst Fellow more than once. For those who complete their Fellowship and wish to continue working with InHerShoes, many of our fellows have become interns as part of our rotational program. To learn more about our internship program, look here, or email us at email@example.com.

CATALYZE COURAGE TO
"I have learned that getting to know someone else's view in life can make a difference for your own future and the future of others. I want to spread the experience of "human communication" among my peers!"
STAND FOR JUSTICE
"I want to empower young girls to find their inner voice through real life situations that might place women in an inferior role. I want girls to actually become involved with an issue they care about and do something about it."
DEFY THE ODDS
"I'm putting the resources available from the InHerShoes and the national Girls Who Code organization to establish a super club at my high school that equips girls with the tools and confidence to succeed in the male dominated field of technology. I'll do this by using the Girls Who Code Curriculum and the fantastic mentors from InHerShoes!"
"My goal is to start a club at my school that will spread happiness to people in need and bring a smile to the faces of those struggling; 'The Happiness Project' will use recycled materials to create small gifts of kindness and brighten someones day."
"So many young women are held back by fear, yet we have this eagerness to try something new. I believe that all young women should try something new, knowing that failure is an option, but even after failing multiple times, continue trying until we reach success. I'm empowering girls to conquer the fear of change."
